We’re giving you 26 new reasons to get ready for the beautiful blooms of Spring: a full Floral Alphabet Machine Embroidery Design Set!
From garments to totes to pillows and more, these A – Z designs are intricately detailed, wonderfully colorful, and ready to stitch out in SIX major embroidery file formats: ART, EXP, JEF, PES, VIP, and VP3. And they are FREE to you thanks to in part to our friends at Janome America.
As a dedicated Janome Exclusive Studio, we used the Janome Memory Craft 1000 sewing and embroidery model and its standard SQ14e Hoop, which measures 140mm x 140mm (5.5” x 5.5”). The letters average in size at 4” wide x 5” high and each fit beautifully into this mid-range style of hoop. Most embroidery machines come with a standard hoop around 5” x 5” to 5” x 7”.
The inspiration for this alphabet came from a set of large embroidery designs created for a pair of Peace Pillows that debuted several years ago. We reduced the size of the original letters and expanded to a full alphabet. They continue to be a lovely way to embellish a set of pillows and would be equally gorgeous to customize a nursery bundle for a new baby, grace the front of tote (“S” is for Sewing Supplies) or to emblazon a jacket or sweatshirt.
Our thanks to Janome America for sponsoring the designs and allowing us to provide them to our visitors free of charge. It’s also because of Janome that we have the machines to make the stitchouts look perfect every time. Plus, a very special thanks to S4H Seamstress Team Member, Michele Mishler for her amazing digitizing skills that brought these letters to life!
Of course we realize not everyone has access to an embroidery machine, but we hope this design collection will inspire you to find out more about how interesting and affordable it can be add machine embroidery to your sewing space. We have been consistently impressed with the new MC1000 sewing and embroidery model. It is smooth and quiet, and surprisingly compact thanks to its built-in, swing-out-and-lock embroidery arm. As we’ve found out… don’t let the small size fool you; this machine is packed with high-end features, like powerful on-screen editing. All this, and a very affordable price.
We recommend taking a look at the full selection of Janome machines at your local Janome dealer. To find out more before you go, visit their info-packed website and follow them on social media.
We hope you enjoy our letter perfect Floral Alphabet collection!

These embroidery designs are beautiful! I only wish they were available as a pdf, since I don’t have an embroidery machine. I’d love to be able to do them by hand, but I assume it would be a lot more work to have them available as a pdf. I’m disappointed, but realize that you have so many great patterns and designs for us that I really can’t complain about one little issue. 🙂 Keep up the great work!! I’ve used many of your free patterns and will continue to do so. Thanks!! 🙂
Thanks, Vivian – and – Yes — it would be detailed hand work for sure! You could download and print out the Thread Chart using the link above. It shoes each letter.
